Dental impressions are used for a variety of functions, but their general purpose is to obtain an accurate replica of hard and soft oral tissues. Improved materials with better properties permit more accurate and predictable impressions to be made. GC America’s EXA Family with EXAMIX, EXAFAST, and EXA’lence gives each practice a variety of impression materials to fit any need.
EXAMIX is a VPS impression material available in a range of viscosities including monophase, heavy and injection materials. This material truly demonstrates the dimensional stability inherent to VPS materials. It exhibits a less than .02% linear dimensional change after 24 hours and can be poured multiple times.
Some impressions, such as dual arch impressions, require a very rigid impression material such as polyether EXA’lence would be the ideal material for this type of impression, as it combines the necessary properties of polyethers, such as their short setting time and rigidity, and VPS materials, such as their high accuracy and dimensional stability.
