Christie Scott Mikolajczyk, CDA, RDA, EDDA
Christie began her dental career as a Dental Laboratory Technician for Advanced Dental Studio at the age of 18 in 2001. In 2004 Christie took interest in chairside dental assisting after being offered an in office mentorship. She maintained her basic dental assisting certifications under the guidance of her mentors as a RDA (registered dental assistant) and has since expanded her skills to hold every team position in the dental office, with the exception of dentist and hygienist.
Christie received her certification as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2005. She became a Certified Dental Assistant through the Dental Assisting National Board in 2006 and obtained her Coronal Polishing Degree through the Kentucky Board of Dentistry in 2007 . Christie had been a proud Dental Forensics First Responder in the Medical Reserve Corps, Barren River Area Development District since 2006.
Christie has attended a multitude of continuing education classes making her advanced in the field of dental studies. Christie’s specialties include orthodontic assisting, dental sedation, oral surgery, full mouth rehabilitation, and smile design. One of her major accomplishments is to be a speaker and trainer for Contemporary Product Solutions which has enabled her to travel the US and Canada to share her love for dentistry and the dental team.
Christie is employed as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant by Dr. Clemmons at Briarwood Dental Care in Bowling Green, KY which she feels enables her to “practice what she teaches”. She also enjoys teaching with her doctor and his wife, who is a dental hygienist, at their dental assisting school. There, she educates and mentors students in a range of basic dental studies to advanced expanded dental assisting.In her spare time, Christie volunteers at her local free clinic and travels volunteering with the ‘Smiles from the Heart” program giving free dental care to those in need.
The purpose of the Academy of Chairside Assisting (ACA) is to protect and preserve the validity of the ACA accreditation examinations while maintaining the standard of excellence the credentials have come to represent.
Our advisory board members will assure that the rights and privileges of our accredited members are honored while allowing the opportunity for dental assistants to achieve their full potential in chairside assisting.
